One of the least fun aspects of adulthood is bills, and we all learned that the hard way. However, as much as bills coming around every month can get annoying, what's even more annoying is not having that service at all. We had our water shut off recently when some construction was being done in our area (it was only off for half a day), and it's one of those things that you don't realize just how much you use it until you don't have it.

As much as we all hate paying bills, there are a few ways to save some money on bills, and one of those ways is as simple as checking your toilet.

if you've noticed that your water bill was recently much higher than usual, or if your water bill the past few months seems to be getting bigger, you may want to check your toilet, because you may have a leak.

According to the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility:

Is your water bill unusually high for an unknown reason? You could have a toilet leak. It’s called a silent leak. You don’t hear it, but a leaking toilet can waste hundreds of gallons of water a day and cost you extra on your monthly utility bill for unused water.
