The Evansville Thunderbolts have announced that head coach, Jeff Pyle is leaving the franchise after accepting the same position with the Atlanta Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) according to a press release provided by the team.

Pyle is the first and only coach in the Thunderbolts' short history. Preparing to enter their third season, they became a team in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) in 2016. His run as head coach was not his first experience with hockey in Evansville. He was a member of the Evansville Icemen coaching staff during the 2013-14 season.

The team also announced General Manager, Pete Xander is leaving the franchise after accepting an unspecified position with Duke University.

The press release states a nationwide search to fill both positions will begin immediately.
