Evansville Salon Hosting Free Back to School Haircuts

If your kids are in need of a haircut, they have the opportunity to take advantage of free back-to-school haircuts in 2023.

Summer break is nearing its end. It feels like just yesterday, the kiddos were getting out of school and eager to take advantage of summer. In about a month's time, kids will be returning to school. That means now is when parents plan out their back-to-school shopping lists. Clothes, shoes, and school supplies don't come cheap, especially for those who have multiple children. Some families cannot afford all of the required school supplies. Throw in new clothes for school because they outgrew their clothes from last year, which can put many in a bind...especially with the way the economy has been. Then, you want to ensure your kiddos look presentable before school with a fresh haircut. All of that money adds up, and one Evansville saloon recognizes that. So they want to help take a little pressure off your shoulders by offering free back-to-school haircuts!

Free Back To School Haircuts in Evansville

KK’s Hair Today in Evansville will be hosting a back-to-school haircut event on Monday, July 31st from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. According to a post on their Facebook page:

Our staff is partnering with other local stylist from the tristate to offer FREE Back to School Haircuts for Grades K-12!! Walk-Ins Only! <br />Also from now through August 1st we will be doing a school supply drive and will be offering a product giveaway and to qualify drop off any extra school supplies to the salon and be entered to WIN! All supplies will benefit area schools!

This isn't the only hair salon in the Tri-State offering free back-to-school haircuts. Lux Hair Salon in Boonville, Indiana will once again be offering back-to-school haircuts for Warrick County Students in grades Kindergarten through 12th for FREE this summer. Free haircuts will be given on Saturday, August 5th, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. You can learn more about that event by clicking here.

Outside the major cities, the Hoosier state is full of tiny little towns you've probably passed through on your way to one of those cities. Most of them are likely 100 to 150 years old, or older, and have been around far longer than the large metropolitan areas such as Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville. Typically, they were started by early settlers who found their way to the state and decided to make it home. Eventually, others would join them, and a community was formed. Over time, as the surrounding areas grew, most of them were folded into those areas and governed by the nearest city or county's governing body officially making them "unincorporated," meaning they did not have their own formally organized municipal government.

A scroll through Wikipedia's long list of unincorporated communities in Indiana shows several of them have names that by today's standards would be considered weird, quirky, or just downright right funny. These are my 40 favorities.
