Evansville Police Trying to Identify Man Connected to Stolen Car Case ** UPDATE**
**UPDATE** Thanks to a tip from a citizen, Evansville Police have apprehended the man they were looking for in connection to a car theft investigation. 52-year-old Fletcher Byrd has been caught.
On January 8 78 year old Jane Purdie was helping her handicapped husband get into Ziemer's Funeral Home. In the short time her car was in front of the building a thief got into it and drove away. Police need your help identifying this man!
Not only did the thief end up with Mrs. Purdie's car, inside her car were checks and credit cards, also custom leg braces that belonged to Mrs. Purdie's husband. Police have been working diligently, but have not been able to find her car.
The day after her car was stolen a male was caught on camera using one of Mrs. Purdie's stolen checks at CVS. Police were able to grab several images of the man.
The car that was stolen is a tan 2007 Toyota Camry with Indiana Plate UE1214 with sorority and fraternity stickers on the lower edge of the front windshield.
