Evansville Police Seeking Info on Weekend Murder Investigation Involving 2 Teenagers
The Evansville Police Department is asking for your help in a shooting investigation that took place over the weekend leaving one person dead.
According to a report provided by the EPD, officers were flagged down in the 700 block of Monroe Avenue on the city's south side Saturday night just before 11:00 PM. The responding officers found a 15-year-old victim who had been shot and was having trouble bleeding. The officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived on the scene and emergency medical technicians took over. The victim was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately died as a result of his injuries.
Around that same time, central dispatch received a call saying a 17-year-old had been dropped off at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Fortunately for this victim, the injury was a graze and they were both alert and conscious. Investigators determined the individual was involved in the same shooting as the 15-year-old.
No arrests have been made as of this writing. Police say the suspects were described as three black males wearing all black and wearing black gloves. No other distinguishing details such as approximate height or age were provided.
