The President of PetSmart Charities had this to say about this trend they're seeing in cat adoptions:

More people than ever are enjoying the playful nature of cat companionship. Cats can thrive in smaller living spaces, and their independence often makes them incredibly appealing to pet parents who can’t get out for regular walks.

PetSmart recently named 25 cities where people are adopting more cats than anywhere else, and spoiling them the most, as these cities also have the highest purchases of cat products.  To find this information, they pulled adoption data from the PetSmart Charities' Adoptions Database, as well as customer spending data.

So, where on the list did Evansville land?  Evansville came in 23rd.  While 23 may seem a bit low on the list of the top 25, that also means Evansville is 23rd in the nation for the best places to be a cat (basically).
