The Halloween Season

One thing I love about the end of summer (minus the fact that the heat will start giving us a break soon) is that it's also the beginning of the Halloween season.  Used to Halloween was relegated to just a few decorations (if any) and kids dressing up for trick or treating.  Now thanks in part to social media, the popularity of the holiday has exploded.  People go all out for the Halloween season, decking out their house in Halloween decorations, and raiding stores as soon as Halloween decorations show up on shelves.  But there's one little gem in Evansville, where you can get your spooky on 365 days a year.

The Store That Celebrates Halloween All Year

When I was a kid, I remember Nick Nackery, was where you went to get your Halloween costume and prank scratch-off tickets.  But now, there's more than practical jokes and costumes at the Nick Nackery.  Although, the Nick Nackery has thousands of Halloween costumes to choose from (both kids, adults, and even for dogs)!  They're also the perfect place to go if you're a fan of all things spooky. Or if it's just not Halloween season yet, and you need your Halloween fix.

The Nick Nackery

While the Nick Nackery is known for its massive Halloween costume selection, they've got plenty of other spooky items to hold you over until Halloween gets here.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
