Evansville Police Need Your Help Locating This Truck That Ran Into a CVS and Took Off
The Evansville Police Department's Hit and Run Unit is hoping you can help them locate the driver of a truck they say crashed into the backside of a local CVS location and took off without saying a word.
The Department shared the two photos below on their Facebook page from surveillance cameras at the CVS Pharmacy on the corner of Boeke and Covert of the vehicle they believe was involved. Their post did not specify what time of day or how long ago the incident took place.
Unfortunately, and as is usually the case with surveillance camera photos, the quality leaves a little to be desired. However, there are a few distinguishing features from the photos you can focus on.
For starters, the EPD does state in its Facebook post with the images that it is a dark-colored Dodge Ram pickup truck. Also, it has four full-size doors making it a Crew Cab, and it appears the rear fenders flare out which would make it dual axle featuring four back tires instead of two (a.k.a. a "dually"). Finally, as the EPD notes in their post, it appears to be hauling some type of scooter in the bed. Chances are that's currently not the case, but you never know.
Despite the less-than-stellar quality, the main thing that will help identify this vehicle on the streets is that it should have "noticeable front end damage," according to the EPD.
If you see this truck around town, let Evansville Police know by calling the Hit & Run Unit at (812) 436-7942, or the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's anonymous WeTip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).
