The Evansville BBQ Festival is coming up this Friday and Saturday in downtown and will feature a barbecue competition with over 20 teams, plus other food vendors, a classic car show, and live music. The event will also feature the opportunity for us to help a couple of worthy non-profits, Aurora and the Tri-State Food Bank, continue their mission of helping those in need.

Admission to Saturday's portion of the event is free to attend, however donation boxes will be set up at each entrance where you can drop off toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc,), water and canned food items that will be turned over to both organizations at the conclusion of the event.

In case you're unfamiliar, both groups are Evansville-based with Aurora working to put an end to homelessness in the area through a variety of programs, and the Tri-State Food Bank providing both perishable and non-perishable food items for families struggling to put food on the table.

Visit the Festival's website for more information, as well as the ability to purchase tickets for Friday night's 21-and-over VIP dinner prepared by 78-time BBQ Grand Champion, Jim Johnson.
