Allow us to introduce you to this week's Pet of the Week from the Vanderburgh Humane Society, Dory. See them in action!

The VHS sent us this info:

She was just being so cute so the video’s longer!

Meet Dory the country sangin’ fly-catchin’ hound dog. She’s a 7-year-old female Treeing Walker Coonhound. And she is fabulous. She loves other dogs, she loves all people. She is interested in the cats & bunnies but I’ve never seen her be aggressive to any. I think she would be nosy with cats in a home, but as long as they had their own space, I can’t imagine her having issues with smaller critters.

I have also taken her to our friends at Eyewitness News for the noon show and she did great there. Great in the car, great meeting Ron Rhodes, all of that. (And still, no one’s adopted her!)

And by “country sangin’” I mean she will sing you the song of her people. She can be quiet if you’re just chillaxin’ on the couch... but if she gets excited, oh boy, she will bay until the cows come home. When she sees the leash she starts doing it, and she does a cute little gallop. Which, since she’s a little voluptuous, is even cuter. I think going for walkies might be her favorite thing.

And I firmly believe that her previous people named her Dory because she sounds like she’s speaking whale.

I love her to pieces, she is such a great dog. Adoption fee $110, ready to go home today.

We now have several litters of kittens in foster care and even a few at the shelter ready for adoption, so the “Kitten Season Please Help” plea begins now. Foster homes are needed. For kittens by themselves, and also for moms with kittens. Fostering is 100% free. We provide everything INCLUDING food (not all organizations do.) Fostering is also not indefinite with us. The goal is for you to have the kittens as short a time as possible until they can come back to the shelter for adoption — the littler they are, the more people want them. You will not have the same foster animals for years on end.

All the info on fostering is at www.vhslifesaver.org/foster.

Wanna watch cats playing LIVE 24/7 (if they’re not sleeping) on their new Petcube Play in the Cageless Cat Lounge. Download the free Petcube app, create an account, and find “VHS Cat Lounge.” The camera runs all the time and if you turn your phone to landscape, you can control the built-in laser pointer and play with the kittens!
