Attention Chocolate Lovers – There’s a ‘Cocoa Crawl’ Coming to Henderson in February
Few things warm your bones on a chilly winter day in the Tri-State than a cup of hot chocolate. Some people like to enjoy it with marshmallows on top. Some prefer a heaping pile of whip cream. There are those who like to add a little spice, and those, like me, who just want as much chocolate flavor as possible. Whatever your preference, you'll likely find a version you love during the Henderson Chamber of Commerce's "Cocoa Crawl" coming up in February.
What is a 'Cocoa Crawl?'
The best way to describe the Cocoa Crawl is to compare it to another popular event the Franklin Street Events Association hosts in February, the Gumbo Cook-Off. That event features a number of non-profit organizations setting up shop on both sides of Franklin Street, serving up their own version of the popular Cajun stew. The Cocoa Crawl will be the same concept except with hot cocoa instead of gumbo.
The event post on the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Facebook page doesn't specify how many different versions of hot cocoa will be available during the event but does use the word, "stops," which leads me to believe there will be several.
How to Get Tickets for the Downtown Henderson 'Cocoa Crawl'
The event takes place from Noon until 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 11th, with tickets for the family-friendly event available online now for $20 per person or $70 for four. After purchasing your tickets, you'll be able to pick up your commemorative mug and wristband at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Office at 114 N Main St. during regular business hours beginning Monday, January 30th.
The week of the event, you'll receive an e-mail with the map that will show you all the different locations you'll be able to enjoy a 3-ounce sample of hot cocoa at each stop.
Many of the stores and restaurants in downtown Henderson will be open and are expected to offer special sales on their items. More specific information on those sales and specials is expected to be released in the days and weeks leading up to the event. Follow the event's page on Facebook to find out about those specials as they're announced.
