What is a Christkindlmarkt?

I've heard the term Christkindlmarkt before, but to be totally honest I have never actually been to one, so what exactly is a Christkindlmarkt?  Well, it's a German Christmas market like the one pictured below.  Traditionally these markets are ways for people to get into the Christmas spirit by doing some shopping, enjoying delicious food, and supporting local vendors. It only makes sense that Evansville's Germania Mannerchor is hosting a Christkindlmarkt!

On November 18th you can really get into festive mode by enjoying the Christkindlmarkt at Germania Mannerchor. The market will take place from 9 AM to 2 PM and will host several local vendors selling all kinds of unique handmade arts and crafts.  Of course, if it's at Germania Mannerchor you can bet there will also be delicious German food being served up during the event.  And of course, since it's a Christmas-themed event, Santa Claus will be making a special appearance at the event for photos.

Are You A Vendor Who Would Like to Participate?

Germania Mannerchor took to Facebook and said they had a few spots left for booths at the Christkindlmarkt.  According to the Christkindlmarkt registration form this event is for handmade arts and crafts items, and homemade food products only, so this will really be a unique experience and a great place to grab one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays.  You can find the registration form with all of the information about having a booth at the event, here.
