Alright, we have survived the heatwave of summer 2023, let's hope Mother Nature turns down her thermostat so we can pull our hoodies out of the closet! Autumn is knocking at our door, and with summer currently having her last hurrah, I believe most of us are ready for sweater weather. What better way to celebrate the fall season, than at Cheekwood Estates?

Cheekwood Harvest

Cheekwood Harvest days are back for the 2023 fall season! Starting on September 16th and running through October 29th Cheekwood Harvest returns to the greater Nashville Area. Fall activities to expect at Cheekwood Harvest are; scarecrow trails, pumpkin picking, and a beer garden.

There will be live music lineups, harvest workshops, and a Wellness 360 experience partnered with Vanderbilt. Also available during Cheekwood Harvest will be a vast assortment of food trucks, many different food vendors will be on location for the majority of the duration of the event.

Guided tours of the historic grounds will also be available.

Cheekwood Harvest's autumnal celebratory display, the autumn village, will make for the perfect backdrop for photo sessions. Make time to make memories this fall and come enjoy all the family-friendly options that Cheekwood is offering.

Child-friendly fun: TOTS

While most Cheekwood Harvest days are family-friendly, there are some fun activities geared towards the smallest members of the family in particular. TOTS begins on September 5th and runs five days a week (Tuesday- Saturday) until October 28th. From 10 am until 12 pm there are fun hands-on activities, story times, and a new favorite, Turtle Talks. TOTS will educate the littles on Japanese Moon Viewing, and thanks to the PNC Library there are more hands-on learning experiences to be had.

This experience is targeted for toddlers accompanied by adults.

See Dolly Parton's Longtime Nashville Home

Dolly Parton and Carl Dean owned this 4,795 square-foot residence in Nashville from 1980 until 1996. While it's not the lavish mansion one might expect one of the biggest country stars of all time to have lived in, it's a beautiful home that's also a one-of-a-kind piece of country music history.

Built in 1941. the house features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and the wooded, 2.4-acre property also features a detached storage building. Amenities in the stucco home also include an eat-in kitchen, carport, covered porch and patio, deck, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, a great room large enough for plenty of games and entertainment and dual heating and cooling units.

A Unique Tennessee Getaway, The Smoky Mountain Pirate Ship

Located on Douglas Lake in Tennessee, sits a rather unconventional houseboat. What makes this houseboat unconventional is it's been modeled to look like a pirate ship, complete with masts, skeletons, portholes, and more! If you're wanting a Smoky Mountain getaway like no other, this is certainly a good option. See the full VRBO listing, here.
