The Challenger Baseball League is looking for donated items they can auction off during a fundraising event on Saturday, November 19th.

The Challenger League operates out of the Highland Baseball League on Evansville's north side and gives children with disabilities the chance to play and enjoy the game of baseball.

Evansville native, and current Miami Marlins manager, Don Mattingly was on hand this past Sunday to present a $25,000 check to the League from his Mattingly Charities Foundation. The money will be used to build a new shelter house and cooling center for the players.

The fundraising event on November 19th is open to adults 21-years-old and older, and will take place at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center's Lower Event Center from 5:00 p.m. until Midnight. The evening will feature food, a cash bar, raffle items, and live music from local duo, The Honey Vines.

League Chairman, Matt Pokorney, is currently seeking items for the auction portion of the evening to help raise additional funds. If you or someone you know operates, or works for a local business that would be willing to donate an item or two, contact Matt at 812-205-5933.
