Update – Schools Being Released From Lockdown

UPDATE: The schools that had been on lockdown are now being released.

Police are looking for a suspect they say is armed and dangerous.  60-year old Louis Stokes ran from a home containing a meth lab on West Mill Road around 12:20 pm and police are now searching the area around Mill Rd. and Folz in Evansville.

Because of Stokes' apparent violent past, local schools are on lockdown this afternoon with buses being held until the situation is resolved.  Those schools are Helfrich Park, St. Joe Catholic, Tekoppel, Highland, Central, Stringtown, Thompkins, West Terrace, and Cynthia Heights.
