BREAKING NEWS: Henderson Police Searching for Escaped Ohio Fugitive
Officials with the Henderson Police Department are searching for a man they believe is a fugitive who recently escaped from a Lima, Ohio prison with another inmate.
In a post on Facebook around 4:20 AM Wednesday morning, the Department said officers attempted to stop a car they believed was stolen and was occupied by the two escapees. The car fled the scene and wrecked on Camaro Drive. The two occupants got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away. One inmate, James Marion Lee was caught by officers and placed under arrest. The other, Bradley Gillespie (pictured above) managed to get away.
Henderson Police say Gillespie has charges including "murder, breaking and entering, theft, assault, possession of drugs, escape, forgery, receiving stolen property, weapons offenses, and burglary." He is listed as 6’ tall, 200 pounds, 50 years old, appears to be bald, and was last seen wearing dark clothing.
According to our media partners, Eyewitness News, Evansville Police are also involved in the search after they were contacted by Henderson Police about someone who may have been trying to swim across the Ohio River along Old Henderson Road near Hickory Ridge.
Henderson Police have set up a perimeter around the area of Camaro Drive and are encouraging residents to be vigilant, lock their doors, and call 911 if they have any information that may help them locate Gillespie.
