Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood Hint at ‘Really Special Moment’ During 2017 CMA Awards
2017 marks the 10th year that Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have co-hosted the CMA Awards together, and the duo has created so many special memories over the years. However, Paisley predicts that one of the most memorable moments in the 2017 show will come directly from his co-host.
Paisley and Underwood sat down with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America to offer some insight into the 51st annual event, with the "Mud on the Tires" singer praising what Underwood has in store for her performance on the show.
"I predict though that the highlight of our show is Carrie," Paisley noted, to applause from the audience.
Underwood didn't support this with much detail, but insisted instead that it won't be her stealing the spotlight -- rather, it will be fellow star she's collaborating with. "It's going to be a really special moment in the show," she said.
Paisley related that he is also excited to share the stage with newcomer Kane Brown on his new single "Heaven South," calling the singer "fantastic" and "lighting up" the country scene. "It's always exciting when you see somebody make their debut on this show -- that happens quite a lot," he said.
Other collaborations slated for the show include Maren Morris and Niall Horan, Kelsea Ballerini with Reba McEntire, and Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts.
The superstar co-hosts have also enjoyed poking fun at power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill throughout the show's tenure (they even revisited the infamous 2011 clip where they busted out Barbie dolls of the pair).
"We've had a great time at Tim and Faith's expense over the years," Paisley admitted, to laughter from the crowd. "And they've been up for it, which is great," Underwood added. "It's so great when you have those that'll laugh at themselves and play along, and they love it."
Tune in to the 2017 CMA Awards on Nov. 8 to see what comedic bits the two have in store when the show airs live from Nashville at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
