Bigfoot is an iconic monster truck, and to celebrate 50 years of Bigfoot, the Edwards County Fair is hosting Full Throttle Monster Trucks, and WKDQ has your chance to win tickets!

The First Monster Truck

In 1975, Bob Chandler began growing his Ford F-250 into the beast we now know as Bigfoot.  The story of how Bigfoot came to be is really interesting, starting as a company vehicle and growing into the iconic blue monster truck we know and love today. News of the massive truck began to spread, and soon Bob and Bigfoot were appearing in local truck and tractor pulls, according to Bigfoot's website. Eventually, Bigfoot became a household name across the Midwest, and as they say, the rest is history!

Bigfoot became such an iconic truck that when I was a kid (a child of the 90s), my dad bought my brother and me a Bigfoot Power Wheels. I wish we still had that thing because my son would love it! But we drove the literal tires off of that small battery-operated version of Bigfoot.

Celebrate 50 Years of Bigfoot on Saturday, July 26th
