Hi there and welcome to my little corner of the internet! I'm Melissa, a determined girl just trying to convince my boyfriend to allow me to adopt more dogs. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, I fell in love with writing as an adolescent filling journals with angsty complaining, which later turned into short stories that can only be described as humor from my adult perspective. My passion for writing led me to Evansville, IN where I earned my Bachelor's of Arts from UE. In my own life's plot twist, I then went on to the field of early education where I now teach young children. When I'm not writing or chasing toddlers, I enjoy reading, constantly rearranging my home décor, and any activity that allows me to pretend I live in the woods. Home is where I treat my boyfriend of 4 years to my absolutely hilarious sarcasm while spoiling our 3 dogs, Prudence, Duke and Daisy. In lieu of being a huge advocate for domestic violence awareness and rescue animals, I also have a talent for interjecting F.R.I.E.N.D.S quotes into my daily conversations, and will always yell "cows!" when spotting them on road trips. I am excited to share this space with you and write about life's adventures, local happenings, causes that occupy my heart, and the simple things that become the most pivotal.
