All of a Sudden My Mascot Fear Doesn’t Seem So irrational….
It's been a bit of a joke (HAHA DAVE ITS SO FUNNY ISNT IT) that I'm afraid of mascots, because well...I am. But it turns out my fear may not be all that irrational.
I have a fear of people in masks, but ESPECIALLY those big terrifying mascot costumes, they give me the creeps. Evan the otter from Bosse field? Sure he's totally adorable...from a distance. But any closer, nope. I will walk all the way around Bosse field just to avoid making eye contact. Now if I know who is wearing the costume, I'm okay, but if someone is near me in a mask or if I'm near a mascot it's hard to hold my composure. And this isn't new this has been a fear I've had my entire life. When I was a kid I'd put my hand over my face and hide if I was near the Easter bunny or a mascot. I was even afraid of the WKDQ rabbit when I was a kid, which weird how that one came full circle right?
So when I saw this story I realized my fear really isn't all that irrational. This guy was a mall Easter Bunny, but then they realized he was a registered sex offender so he was arrested. BUT SEE. THAT'S CREEPY! I hope more malls do background checks on their creepy bunnies. I can't make this up... Check out the full news story and see his mug shot here.
One time I accidentally summoned the WKDQ bunny....
