Adventurous and Outgoing Indiana Shelter Dog Looking for Her Forever Family
This week's Pet of the Week from the Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) is a spunky little pup who is looking for a family willing to make her the center of their world. Meet Ophelia.
Ophelia's Story
Ophelia is a two-year-old retriever mix the VHS calls "adventurous and outgoing." As you can see from the video above, she has a lot of energy and loves to play. The VHS says she's easy-going on walks unless you come across some geese. Then, her curiosity gets the best of her and she wants to get up close and personal to check them out.
As outgoing as Ophelia is, there is one thing to know if you're thinking about making her part of your home — she's not a big fan of cats, so it's strongly recommended you are a cat-free home.
And, right now would be a great time to adopt Ophelia as her adoption fee is only $50 thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation who has partnered with the VHS and other shelters around the country to offer discounted pet adoptions. Normally, the adoption fee for Ophelia would be $150. Plus, all the things that are included in the normal adoption fee is still included in the discounted version (up-to-date vaccinations, microchipping, spay, and more.)
If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Noel and Mistletoe, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
