Adoptable 3-Legged Dog Ready to Race Into Your Heart at Indiana Shelter
The animals available for adoption at the Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) in Evansville come in all shapes and sizes (or "all makes and models" as Executive Director Kendall Paul likes to say). They have big animals, small animals, white animals, brown animals, black animals, grey animals, and in the case of this week's Pet of the Week, animals who don't let their physical handicap stop them from enjoying life. Meet Zippy.
Zippy's Story
The appropriately named "Zippy" is a 1-year-old pup who came to the VHS with a severely broken front right leg that was beyond repair and had to be amputated. However, the lack of a fourth leg hasn't slowed him down one bit. According to the VHS, and as you can see in the video above, Zippy has adapted to his condition very well and has no problem getting around. He loves playing like his 4-legged friends and he’d LOVE to have a playmate in his new home.
Zippy's adoption fee is $150 which covers the cost of his neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations, just like every adoption fee at the VHS.
If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Zippy, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
