Mark Dodson - A Man of Many Voices

You might not recognize his name, but you would know the characters that he voiced throughout his career. Star Wars fans know Mark as the voice behind Salacious Crumb in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

Mark Dodson was also the voice of over 200 Gremlins. He talks about that amazing recording process in this interview from December of 2023.

What Happened to Mark Dodson at Evansville Horror Con?

I was set to meet and chat with Mark Dodson at Evansville Horror Con, but his booth was empty when I stopped by to meet him. A few of the other celebrities were not at their booths yet, and it was still early, so I didn't think much of it.

Later that afternoon we received word that Mark Dodson had passed away overnight. This was obviously a sad and shocking incident to handle. Evansville Horror Con organizers could not release any information until Mark's family was notified.

Mark's daughter, Ciara tells TMZ that her father passed in his sleep due to a massive heart attack.

Tributes Rolling in for Mark Dodson

I’m so glad I got to meet you on Friday and have a great conversation that night. To hear you in person do the gremlins voice was magical and I was so excited to show you my gremlins shirt the next day. Even though I only spoke to you for a little bit you left a memory I will never forget and I am still completely shocked and heartbroken about this. You made a difference in my life in just the little time we talked. Prayers to family, friends and fellow fans. Rest in peace
