Accident Closes Southbound Twin Bridge Monday Morning

UPDATE: MONDAY, MAY 6TH AT 7:24 A.M.

Jim Stratman from 14 News reports that Kentucky State Police are taking over the scene, and that the bridges may remained closed for another one to two hours.

Authorities are now redirecting some southbound traffic over the northbound bridge.

ORIGINAL STORY

An accident has closed the Southbound Twin Bridge this morning.

The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. bringing traffic to a standstill.

At 5:00 a.m., Jim Stratman with 14 News reported one person had died as a result of the accident and the Henderson County Coroner had been called to the scene.

No timetable has been given for when the bridge will reopen. If you need to be in Henderson this morning, you'll need to find an alternate route (through Owensboro and back), or prepare to wait.
