$7 Smoky Mountain River Tubing Adventure
Wouldn't it be nice to kick back and float your way along a river nestled in the Smoky Mountains?
The Smoky Mountains is a tourist destination like no other in America. Not only do you have the beautiful mountain views, but there are so many unique places to stay, an amazing amount of attractions, and don't get me started on the delicious food. But if you needed just one more reason to visit the Smoky Mountains this year, I think I might have found that reason.
Float Down A Smoky Mountain River For Only $7
I don't know about you, but when I go on a vacation, I want to relax and not be on any kind of set schedule. On top of that, I am super cheap, so if I am going somewhere on a vacation I am looking for every possible way to have fun and still save some money in the process. This is the perfect combination of both. Deep Creek in Bryson City, North Carolina is about an hour and twenty minutes from Gatlinburg, and they have something really cool to offer you. You can hang out in an inner tube down the rapids of this mountain stream in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The best part is, it will only cost you $7!
What To Expect Tubing At Deep Creek
They have two different tubing options that you can choose from. You can either go white water-tubing or lazy river-tubing. Not to mention, there are two huge swimming holes that you can take a dip into along the way. According to their website, this is what you can expect on your $7 tubing excursion in the Smoky Mountains:
The upper section is narrower and offers the most white water. It also provides the most thrilling Deep Creek tubing. This is a wild, bouncy ride that can separate the rider from the tube, especially when the water is swift after a rain.
The lower section is wider and a bit calmer. It's perfect for younger kids and less-adventurous adults. Many of our campers continue tubing all the way back to the campground, just a half-mile downstream.
Swimming. Between the two sections, you'll find one of the best natural swimming holes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
When Can You Go Tubing In 2022?
The 2022 tubing season at Deep Creek starts on Thursday, March 31, and runs through Monday, October 31. Oh, and if you just want to make a weekend out of floating in the water, they also have campsites and cabins you can stay in while you're there.
