If it weren't for the Blues, you could argue that a number of other genres of music, including Country, wouldn't exist. Many of the chords and rhythms that originated with early Blues serve as the base for the chords and rhythms that exist today, with each musician tweaking them to their specific style by speeding them up, slowing them down, or mixing and matching them in any number of ways to make them their own. Celebrate this truly American original during the 5th annual Blues on the Rock Festival this Sunday (September 1st, 2019) at Rockport City Park in Rockport, Indiana.

Admission is $10 per person with gates set to open at Noon and live music starting at 2:00 p.m. The complete list of performers for this year's festival is as follows:

  • 2:00 p.m. - Jonas Cowan
  • 4:00 p.m. - Beyond Blu
  • 6:00 p.m. - Boscoe France
  • 8:00 p.m. - Shawn Murphy (Headliner)
  • 10:00 p.m. - Muddy Gut featuring Kenny Brown
