Guns & Hose 12 is set for Saturday, April 13th at the Ford Center in Evansville, and while you may not initially think of it as an event the whole family can attend, I'm not hear to tell you you're wrong, I'm hear to tell you a few reasons why that perception may be unfounded. Five reasons to be exact (in case you missed it in the headline).

Check out the video above to find out what those reasons are. If for some reason that video won't play, or the sight of my face makes you nauseous, here are those reasons in convenient typed form.

1. It's Helps Kids in Need

First and foremost, it's a charity event. All the money raised goes directly to 911 Gives Hope who in turn divides it among several different charities right here in the Tri-State that assist children in need.

2. The Spectacle

This isn't just a couple of people in a boxing ring punching each other in the face. I mean, it is at its core, but it's more than that. It's a spectacle. There's pyrotechnics, crazy lights, fog machines, and did I mention pyrotechnics? Because there's totally pyrotechnics.

3. The Jams

Each fighter selects their own music to walk out to which gives them a chance to show off a little of their personality. Past themes have ranged from hip-hop to heavy metal to "Hakuna Matata" from The Lion King.

4. The Fights

Obviously this is the main draw for Guns & Hoses, but the best part about them is that each fight is only three - one minute rounds. There's no time for strategy or dancing around to save your stamina for later rounds. It's punch or be punched.

5. A Great Value

Tickets start as low as $15, with tickets for kids 12 and under only $5. When and where was the last time you could take the whole family somewhere and get three solid hours of entertainment that cheap?

Tickets for Guns & Hoses are going quick, so be sure to get them soon at the Ford Center box office or online through Ticketmaster.
