Winter Weather Advisory for Evansville, Owensboro and Surrounding Area – More Snow Predicted

The National Weather Service in Paducah has elected to maintain a winter weather advisory for now – expanded it to include all of southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
As the atmosphere cools down out west toward the Ozark foothill region, we may see a mix develop. Toward sunset, over Daviess County, Kentucky, and surrounding areas, the models really cool the column toward the surface, which may translate to a quick change over to snow.
Precipitation from southeast Missouri will move into southern Illinois and Southwest IN. Forecast soundings and thermal depictions suggest a change over to snow through the evening hours as freezing levels drop.
The National Weather service, “Felt comfortable riding with the advisory for now for roughly 2 To 4 inches – similar to our last system primarily North and west of the Ohio River and dropping off south of there.”
Some Counties in the Evansville tri state may be pushing the 4 inch criteria for a winter storm warning.
System will rapidly depart after midnight. Could see some wrap around clouds and flurries Saturday with quiet, cold weather Saturday night into Sunday.
There will be another potential winter event Monday into Tuesday, followed by a cold middle of the week and then a re-enforcing shot of Canadian Air sometime Thursday or Thursday night. Winter is here to stay!

We had some great versions at the Ford Center during the recent Icemen season and just the other night, a little boy did a killer version of the anthem before the Otters game at Bosse Field that was awesome... but sometimes.

Tri-State Gives Moore Mediathon Raises $26,000 For Red Cross
May 22, 2013 6:30 PM A partnership between Eyewitness News, Townsquare Media, and the Evansville Courier and Press have made a big impact with the Red Cross. Wednesday from 6am-6pm, all the media outlets pooled their efforts to raise funds for victims of the Moore, OK tornado victims and with the help of Tri-State donors, we were able to raise $26,016 just in phone-in donations.
