The Ford Center is open and looks great. The Evansville Icemen and the University of Evansville basketball teams are playing there; Bob Seger and Reba McEntire have rocked the Ford Center; the Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum are still to come. The only problem is a lack of restaurants and bars to go to before and after events that you can actually get into. Expansion is part of the future downtown plan, or so we hope, but some establishments have actually closed their doors and the last one to go was Stratman's Pharmacy and Cafeteria. CVS bought Stratman's business and inventory, but will not be putting a store in the now vacated space.

Downtown needs more places to eat and drink and for those of us who live downtown, a grocery store would be REALLY nice. That being said, check out the poll and tell us what you think should go into the space
