O'Charley's Summer Songwriter's Cafe
Remember in 2020 when we were all in quarantine and couldn't enjoy going out and spending time together? Wild times, right? During the pandemic, we saw a rise in virtual entertainment. Many artists held virtual concerts, and performances to help keep everyone's spirits up. O'Charley's also had the idea to host virtual concerts. Back in 2020, the Summer Songwriter's Cafe started as a virtual series. Lee Brice, Tenille Arts, and other popular artists joined in on the virtual fun. The series was so popular it's continued post-pandemic at O'Charley's locations all across the United States. The Summer Songwriter's Cafe continues this week with Matt Rogers.
Meet Matt Rogers
Matt Rogers was born in Georgia, but now hails from Nashville, Tennessee. Matt's music is described as rowdy, gritty, and simply a good time! Matt is a talented songwriter and boasts many awards for his songwriting abilities.
The seasoned songsmith currently boasts 17 songwriting awards that serve as a testament to his signature hard-hitting lyricism electrified by his husky, rich vocals; his song, "Coal," has won several songwriting awards from NSAI/CMT, Music City Songstar, American Songwriter, Songwriting University, and Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. He achieved the top award from Music City SongStar for his song, "She Was Everything," as well as a finalist slot in the USA Songwriting Competition. Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) andCMT selected his song “I Was Raised” for a songwriting achievement award, and it went on to be selected by NSAI as a Top 40 song.
