With violence against women seemingly at an all time high, it's important that we, as women, find ways protect ourselves. Whether it be a situation, as displayed in the Ray Rice video, where your attacker is someone you know, or as in the case of Evansville, IN woman Joelle Lockwood, where you are attacked by a stranger, we need to be less vulnerable and empowered with the right tools in order to protect ourselves. I have found a couple of very unique and helpful ways for you to do just that.

First, an extremely simple way to tell if something has been slipped in your drink.

Although, alcohol is still used the most in drug facilitated rape cases, (which you yourself can prevent by NOT drinking too much), I feel that any means of helping women control their surroundings, like this drug detecting nail varnish, is a great idea. You can never be too safe. Unfortunately, at this time, Undercover Colors nail varnish is still in research and development and isn't available to purchase. Hopefully, you will be able to buy it soon. I'll keep you posted.
There is a company, however, that is a little closer to offering a product that is similar in the form of a straw.

Secondly, a company called Cuff offers smart jewelry that an be used in several different ways, one of which is to track your where you are in case of an emergency.
