Two Strong Country Girls Make It To Hollywood On American Idol

It seems American Idol has don way more for country music than any other format, giving us folks like Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Josh Gracin, Bucky Covington, and more.  I don't see a reason why we couldn't be blessed with more stars this season.  At the Houston auditions for season 11, we met two ladies that might just make it.When I first saw Mississippi girl, Skylar Laine perform, I said, "Now she'll go a long way."  I knew right off that she'd be the main country performer for this year.  Just look at her country girl lifestyle and then listen to how well she sings "Hell On Heels" from Miranda Lambert's side project Pistol Annies.

Right after Skylar blew me away, they brought on Bayliee Brown.  This young lady from Nashville made me change my mind about Skylar.  While Skylar sounded great with "Hell On Heels," she sounded a lot like the original song.  Bayliee showed the chops of a true artist as she sang a Bon Jovi song and made it sound like her own and even a little bit country.  SHE'S now my pick to represent country in the main competition this year!
