Two cities in Indiana made the list of the cities in America most infested with rats. Care to guess which ones?
Orkin just released its list of the Top 50 Rattiest Cities in the U.S. They ranked metro regions by the number of new rodent treatments performed from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023. This ranking includes both residential and commercial pest control treatments. According to Orkin:

They typically enter homes between October and February looking for food, water and shelter from the <a class="chakra-link css-1mma8t6" href="https://www.orkin.com/pests/rodents/mouse-control/where-do-mice-go-in-winter" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">cold</a>.
Chicago took the number one spot on this list for the ninth year in a row...remind me to not visit the Windy City any time soon. Los Angeles claimed the number two spot this year with New York coming in at third place. However, there were two Indiana cities that unfortunately made this list.

So you are probably wondering which two cities in Indiana made that list, right? Coming in at number 15 is Indianapolis. The other city in Indiana that made the list was South Bend at number 47. Coincidentally, Indianapolis and South Bend also made Orkin's list of the top 50 cities for bed bugs in 2023.
So, if you find yourself visiting or living in either of these Indiana cities, be sure to look out for rats. Orkin also mentioned a few common signs that you might have a rat problem, as well as some tips to help keep these rodents out. You can see the full list and learn more by clicking here.
