Thomas Rhett Getting Married in October
The clock is ticking on Thomas Rhett‘s bachelorhood. The ‘Something to Do With My Hands’ singer reveals exclusively to Taste of Country that he will tie the knot with fiancee Lauren Gregory in October.
“We’ve know each other since we were in the first grade,” Rhett explains of his bride-to-be. “We dated once when we were 15, and it didn’t work out. We dated for like six months. We remained best friends even after we broke up. We both dated other people for like five years. When I heard that she had ended her other relationship — this was last spring — I moved in for the kill. We kissed, and that was it. We dated for probably six months, and we got engaged last December, around Christmas time.”
Rhett, whose father is singer-songwriter Rhett Akins, had to come up with the perfect way to ask Gregory to be his wife, which he did with a little help from their families.
“My family and her family all went to this one restaurant called Giovanni’s. Me and Lauren are big on drinking wine and signing the bottles with a silver sharpie … dating them and putting them up in our house,” the singer dishes. “So I brought her upstairs to this room in Giovanni’s, and there was a bottle of wine sitting there. I pulled out a sharpie and put ‘Marry me’ on the bottle. Her mom cued ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ by Frank Sinatra and we danced. It was pretty awesome.”
Rhett and Gregory will make their longtime friendship into a life-long marriage when they say “I do” just outside of Nashville in October.

Deer Goes Crazy After Crashing Into a Bus
May 18, 2013 12:00 PM I have had my fair share of run ins with deer. Living in the country, it's just a way of life. You must, during the early morning hours and evening/night hours, constantly be on alert and have your eyes scanning the sides of the road.
Once, on a trip back to Indiana from Tennessee, a deer came inches away from slamming through the passenger side window of my car, injuring my son. Luckily, the deer hit the front of the windshield and rolled off the hood of the car. But in the case of this bus, it came right through the window and went crazy!!
