This Indiana City Has Been Named the Least Educated in the State

If you had to take a guess as to which Indiana town was the least educated, what would you say?

Much like Forrest Gump, I'm not a smart man. I am full of useless knowledge...none of which I learned in college. In fact, I couldn't even tell you a single thing that I learned in college...yet, I'm still paying for it. Heck, in high school, I'm pretty sure one of my teachers told me that I am going places, but not on the honor roll. Joke's on me, I guess. So, when it comes to calling people "dumb," I am not one to talk. That is, however, unless the person lacks common sense, but that's a different story. With that in mind, perhaps I should move to the new dumbest town in Indiana, as it reportedly only has 5% of its population considered "highly educated". I think I might fit in very well there.

For the record, I'm not calling anyone in this town (or the other towns that made the cut) dumb. This definitely isn't my list. Honestly, I am nowhere near smart enough to put together a list that computes so much data about the "highly educated" population. Just thinking about doing that makes my head hurt. Recently, Road Snacks used Saturday Night Science to determine what places in Indiana have the highest percentage of adults without a high school degree. The website only looked at cities with populations greater than 5,000, leaving them with only 116 cities in Indiana to rank. Unfortunately, one town HAD to be crowned the "dumbest," so let's find out who gets to take home that distinguished honor.

This is the Least Educated Town in Indiana

According to Road Snacks, the "dumbest" town in Indiana is Westville. The northern Indiana town has a population of about 6,062 residents, with a dropout rate of 24%, and only 5% of the population being "highly educated"...whatever that means.

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders.
