When it comes to Indiana, apparently these are the best places to raise a family.

As someone who was born and raised here in Indiana, and plans to repeat that with my children, I can honestly say that I'm proud of my home. Granted, I know everyone's situation is different growing up, but I don't think that Indiana is a bad place to raise a family. Aside from the unpredictable weather we have here, Indiana has a lot to offer families. I mean if it was good enough to be Lincoln's boyhood home, it is good enough for everyone else.

Recently, the website HomeSnacks revealed the top ten best places to raise a family in Indiana for 2024. This wasn't something that was just opnion-based. No, they used real data to come to these conclusions. Here's how they did it:

HomeSnacks has taken the guessing out of that search and consulted the latest US Census on places in this Midwest state with more than 10,000 residents. We looked at several factors including crime, education, family friendly activities, and the percent of households that currently have children. We ended up with 67 family friendly Indiana places that any family would be lucky to call home.

So, which cities/towns made the list? Let's find out!

16 Indiana Towns with Dirty-Sounding Names

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders. Take a look at this list. I guarantee there's at least one name that will make you chuckle.
