Taylor Swift Films ‘VH1 Storytellers’
On Monday night (Oct. 15), Taylor Swift had the opportunity to sit down with 'just' 3,000 of her peers to tape an upcoming episode of 'VH1 Storytellers.' Luckily for the millions of fans who weren't in attendance at the taping, the intimate musical performances and tell-all Q&A session will air on VH1 next month.
It's not often that Swift gets to play to a small crowd. After all, Swift's 'Fearless' days are over, and since she made her country music debut in 2006, she has become one of the most in-demand entertainers in music.
The 'VH1 Storytellers' taping took place at Claremont College in Los Angeles. Always a crowd-pleaser, Swift chose the venue based on a contest. Fans voted for which school they wanted Swift to perform at, and then the top five vote-getting schools received $10,000 in grants for their music departments from Swift and Chegg for Good, a philanthropic program. In the end, Claremont College scored the most votes.
According to the L.A. Times, the taping went about as smoothly as one could hope -- Swift is always remarkably collected, and this situation was no different. From the very beginning of the evening, the 'Begin Again' hitmaker admitted that the taping was a rare and special event.
“I’ve been very fortunate to play all these arenas and stadiums, but tonight is going to be a show like I will never do again and that I’ve never done before," she explained.
Her 75-minute session included performances of new tunes from 'Red,' as well as old standby hit songs. Swift sang 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' and 'Begin Again,' as well as 'Love Story,' 'Mean' and 'You Belong With Me.'
During the Q&A segment, one of the attendees asked the open worrier if she ever second guesses herself. With her tongue in her cheek, she replied, "Only about 400,000 times every 10-minute interval."
To catch Taylor Swift's 'VH1 Storytellers' episode, tune in to VH1 at 11PM ET on Nov. 11.
