The first tears fell shortly after 6AM this morning, with the first smile and sounds of laughter coming soon after. The annual Townsquare Media St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon raised over $270K on Thursday. Highlights included stories about patients like Markell and Susannah, Darius Rucker's song "Possibilities" and a song in memory of a sweet little boy named Chance.

You may think you don't have an extra $20 in your monthly budget to become a Partner in Hope with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, however I'm here to tell you that if you look at where your money goes, finding that extra $20 to help fight childhood cancer is easier than you think.

St. Jude is a totally unique patient experience. It is the only national cancer institute comprehensive cancer center that takes care of children only.

On Thursday and Friday, March 5-6, Taste of Country will turn its focus to the kids at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For a second straight year you'll learn of the heartbreak no one should ever be saddled with, and how country music is making a difference.

The first weeks after childbirth are precious. Ideally, it's a time to bond with baby, but it's also a chance for mom to recover physically and emotionally. Mandy Moody's postpartum experience with her third child Lela was rudely interrupted when doctors discovered the strange glow in the little girl's left eye was actually retinoblastoma, a rare and malignant form of cancer.

Country newcomers Dan + Shay had their St. Jude baptism in January during the 25th annual Country Cares seminar. Hundreds of radio and country music industry personnel join a few dozen artists and label representatives each year to learn about the latest in care and research at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Then, they get to meet some of the patients.

Mike Eli and his Eli Young Band bandmates don't have to look far for reasons why St. Jude is important. The longtime college buddies now have wives and kids, as well as a greater understanding for how precious life is.

Recently, our DJs were invited to Kenny Kent to get in the cash and grab booth and grab as much money as we could for St. Jude. They presented our check today. We grabbed $1001.00 and had a blast doing it!  

At the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one will find a wall filled with a long row of letters and notes from kids receiving treatment.
