A few months back, I wrote an article about a proposed ban on super-sized sodas and sugary drinks in New York City that you can read here. NYC officials felt they had to do something about the growing, (no pun intended), obesity problem in that city and around the country as a whole. As you can imagine, there was a tremendous amount of backlash aimed at the proposal by drink manufacturers, restaurants, stadiums and many other businesses that sell large beverages. Student Banned From Prom For Gesture

It's prom season in the tri-state and before you find a creative way to ask someone, read this story first.

High school senior James Tate decided to go big when he asked friend Sonali Rodrigues to the prom last Friday.

So, in the middle of the night, he taped large cardboard letters spelling out "Sonali Rodrigues, Will you go to prom with me? HMU - Tate" on an exterior wall of Shelton High School in Connecticut. (HMU stand for "Hit Me Up.")
