american country awards

Now with a second year under its belt, the American Country Awards seem to be here to stay.  Do they need to?  In my opinion they're tied for third place in country award shows with the CMT Video Music Awards.  I have found good and bad things about them, especially after watching last night's broadcast...

Toby Keith has been the most played artist on country radio for the last ten years and last night he received the recognition for that. Keith was named Artist of the Decade last night at the American Country Awards. Keith started his acceptance speech by saying, "anyone can have a great decade, right"?. Keith later performed 'Red Solo Cup'.

The American Country Awards is the new kid on the block as far as award shows go.  I think a lot of people had their doubts when it debuted last year, but it has made it back for a second year.  While other award shows have fallen short of, well...awards, the ACA's have no shortage of them.  They've gone as far as doubling the number of categories of the heritage award shows like the CMA's and ACM
