When the Vanderburgh Humane Society takes an animal in, the goal is to make it a short stay. As much as they love animals, the staff at the VHS knows the best possible situation for that dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, etc., is to be in a home with a family that will shower it with love. Sometimes that goal is reached and sometimes it's not for whatever reason. Our Pet of the Week this week is one of the latter. Meet Judith.

Judith's Story

According to the VHS, 4-year-old Judith has been living at the shelter since March of this year and is currently one of its longest residents. Why? That's a great question and one the staff at the VHS can't answer. They say that she is a little shy and cautious when meeting new people at first but doesn't take long to warm up to you. Once she does, she'll be your little snuggle buddy. Plus, even though she's past the puppy stage, as you can see from the video above, she still has quite a bit of spunk and loves playing with toys.

Her adoption fee is $150 and includes everything all adoption fees at the VHS include; up-to-date vaccinations, microchipping, spaying, and some food to get you started. All of which would be WAY more than $150 if you paid for them individually.

If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Judith, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
