What is Glamping?

Over the past several years, glamping has become a very popular thing that couples and families do. Now, there's a chance that you might be wondering what exactly "glamping" is. Glamping is a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with "traditional" camping. So, think of it like a huge fancy tent with heat and AC, on top of several other unique features.

There are glamping sites all over the country. They all range in different styles and amenities. I have gone glamping a few times in the past and loved every place that I went to. Pigeon Forge will soon be home to a new glamping experience that will allow you to stay in some pretty awesome tepees on your next visit.

Tennessee Tepees

Parkside Resort is the newest luxury cabin resort in the Great Smoky Mountains. The cabins are gorgeous, and you'll have access to an indoor pool, outdoor pool, game arcade, 18-hole putt-putt course, kids’ playgrounds, and more!

Aside from the cabins, Parkside Resort is working on a new glamping experience, a Luxury Tepee Village with the mission to promote Native Culture. According to The Smoky Mountain Life, each unit has bathrooms, showers, hardwood flooring, and heat and AC. Take a look at some of the progress below.

Tennesee Tepees plans to open sometime this year. My family and I have been talking about taking a vacation to the Smoky Mountains this year and I am eager to show them these tepees because, once completed, these things would make for an awesome experience for the kids. A Unique Tennessee Getaway, The Smoky Mountain Pirate Ship

Located on Douglas Lake in Tennessee, sits a rather unconventional houseboat. What makes this houseboat unconventional is it's been modeled to look like a pirate ship, complete with masts, skeletons, portholes, and more! If you're wanting a Smoky Mountain getaway like no other, this is certainly a good option. See the full VRBO listing, here.
