We can all agree that the economy is tanking and big business typically wants politicians to do whatever will help line their pockets even more. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is completely fed up with the mess in Washington D.C. right now and has decided to do something about it...actually, it's what he WON'T be doing that has made big news. Schultz has decided that he is no longer going to make political contributions to anyone and he is asking his fellow big name CEO's to do the same. In a letter sent to the members of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, Schultz writes, " I am asking that all of us forgo political contributions until the Congress and President return to Washington and deliver a fiscally, disciplined long term debt and deficit plan to the American people." When was the last time any big business leader said stop it or else! The best way to take a stand in any business is to hit them right square in the middle of where it hurts most.......IN THE WALLET! This could be very big if Schultz sticks to this and gets other CEO's to follow suit......GO HOWIE!!!!!! So, order up a skinny vanilla latte and pay close attention to this one.
