A sinkhole approximately 8 feet deep has shut down an intersection near downtown Evansville. The sinkhole happened not too long ago today (10-3-18) at the intersection of Walnut and Governor.

There has been no timeline as to how long it will take to be repaired it could be a couple of days or even more. Crews are still trying to find out what exactly caused the sinkhole. They said that once they figure that out, they will be better able to estimate how long it will take to repair. The intersection is closed a block away from the scene in all directions.
