The big solar eclipse is happening next Monday, and people from all over the country are flocking to the tri-state area so they can get as close as possible to the Path of Totality, so they can really see this spectacle! Some people are even paying upwards of $800!

It's near impossible to get a hotel room or Air BNB in the tri-state area to be able to see the eclipse. Now Evansville is in the 99% range for viewing the eclipse, but we are not located far from the path of totality, where people can view a total eclipse.

On Monday when I checked TripAdvisor there were ZERO hotel rooms available in the Evansville area. For fun, I decided to check again today and HOLY HOTEL PRICES BATMAN!

Here's one hotel room that according to TripAdvisor was going for $849 Sunday night into Monday morning!

When I checked again a little while later, this hotel has now been booked. But wow! It's really cool to see our little city be such a hot spot for people all over the country who are wanting to get a view of this solar eclipse.

So if you know someone wanting to travel to the tri-state so they can get a good view of the eclipse, you may want to offer up your spare bedroom.  Or you could make some quick cash on Air BNB, like this Newburgh AirBNB going for $500 for the night before the eclipse!
