It's been five years since this incredible woman walked though the studio door at WKDQ and shared her story of battling Cancer with me. The theme of the Komen Race for the Cure' this year is 'Superhero Survivors'. My good friend, Sheila, is a true superhero!!!! #capeforthecure This is her story.....

A message from Sheila Seiler........

Twenty-five years ago I sat across from the doctor and heard the dreaded words that everyone fears - "you have cancer." Austin was only a few months old and I was only 25 myself. I prayed. I prayed every sleepless night to be given enough years to watch Austin grow and become a man. I promised to turn him over to a wife one day if only He would let me watch him grow. Two years later after the doctor said we would never be able to have more children, He blessed us with Dillon. Doctors . . . they don't know everything, they're just practicing medicine! The prayers continued. Here we are 25 years later and He is so good! Austin and Jennifer were married earlier this year and prayers are answered. Dillon and Julie will marry next spring and prayers are answered. Time for new prayers!

As a friend or family member I am asking for donations to our Komen Evansville Tri-State Race for the Cure in honor of my 25 years cancer free. Can you feel it in your heart to donate $25 to save a life?

You can donate online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer. This is a safe and secure way to donate. Or you can mail a check,

whichever you prefer.

Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. 75 percent of the money raised through the Race stays in our local community to fund breast cancer education programs, screening mammograms, diagnostic testing and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking only breast cancer research. Komen is the world's largest private funder of breast cancer research - second only to the US Government!

Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That’s our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
