Kenny Chesney launched the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night (April 15) with his latest single "Get Along."

Chesney donned his trademark cowboy hat and cut off T-shirt for the performance as he — in all of his star power — stood on a single platform surrounded by the crowd, rocking vocals and strumming an acoustic guitar. His backing band assisted him from the main stage, while fans swayed around Chesney.

It marked the TV debut of "Get Along," which is in the same spirit of "Noise," Chesney's first single from 2016's Cosmic Hallelujah. Both songs share societal takes and "Get Along" shares a recurring positive spin in the chorus that promotes togetherness.

"Get along, on down the road / We've got a long long way to go / Scared to live, scared to die / We ain't perfect but we try / Get along while we can / Always give love the upper hand / Paint a wall, learn to dance / Call your mom, buy a boat / Drink a beer, sing a song / Make a friend, can't we all get along," he sings.

Written by Josh Osborne, Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman, "Get Along" is the first release from Chesney's forthcoming album. Two of the songwriters who wrote the song also wrote Chesney's "Noise."

Though he is a four-time ACM Entertainer of the Year award winner, Chesney was not nominated for any ACM Awards in 2018.
