Sparks flew for Holly Hammonds and Army Capt. R.J. Edwards at a Kenny Chesney concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena two years ago, and now the couple will marry in May.

Thanks to a video that went viral, the pair's story is now known by more than 14 million people. In an interview with the Tennessean, Hammonds opens up about their magical meeting.

On March 27, 2015, she and a friend went to their second-straight Chesney concert at Bridgestone Arena. Since the show was sold out, they scalped tickets in the nosebleed section. Noticing two empty seats below them, the two fans snuck down to the lower section and figured they'd stay until the people who had the seats got there. Lucky for Hammonds, that never happened, and her luck continued when she noticed a cute boy looking at her from a nearby seat.

For nearly two hours, while the show was on, they exchanged glances and smiles ... by the end of the concert, the young man felt comfortable enough to wave to her. Hammonds decided to try to give him her number from halfway across the arena. She took her phone and waved it to him and started to put up her fingers to give him her number, one digit at a time.

He texted her and they decided to meet at Tootsie's after the show. They have been inseparable ever since.

Earlier this year, Edwards proposed in the very spot they met — on what was now ice at Bridgestone Arena. He put together an elaborate plan to invite her family, who cheered them on from the stands. Watch Hammonds describe their meeting and the proposal in the video above.

Yes, Chesney heard about their special meeting at his show — he has invited the couple out to any concert of their choice next year, where they'll receive special VIP treatment.
