Jon’s Week 8 Pro Football Picks

I missed two really big ones this past weekend. The Denver Broncos were undefeated going into Sunday night's game in Indy against the Colts. It was also Peyton Manning's first time back in Lucas Oil Stadium as a member of another team. I just assumed Peyton would embarrass the Colts, especially after Colts owner Jim Irsay made his stupid remarks about Peyton. Peyton had  a good night, but came up short and actually looked mortal as the Colts handed Denver their first loss of the season in convincing fashion.

The other big miss was the New York Jets over the New England Patriots in overtime that came on a closer second chance field goal for the Jets after a penalty was called on a New England defender for pushing a teammate across the line of scrimmage in an attempt to block the field goal....very strange.

The New York Giants and Eli Manning finally got their first win of the year on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings thanks to newly acquired Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman's total inability to do anything positive in his first start for the Vikings. I picked the Giants.
