Back in 2012, an Evansville house was raided by a SWAT team. The team was responding to a police threat that was traced to a computer using Wi-Fi coming from a house on Powell Street that belonged to the Milan family.

Here is helmet cam footage from the raid.

It turned out that it wasn't the Milans, but their NEIGHBOR who was using the family's Wi-Fi to make threats against the police. This very scary situation could have been avoided if the family had only used a password for their Wi-Fi. So, the lesson here is to ALWAYS use a PASSWORD for your Wi-Fi!  Use something that your neighbor or any other stranger passing by will NOT know.  And don't write it down and leave it where someone could see it and use it without your consent or permission.
